UV Stabiliser (Cyanuric Acid) also called "Sunscreen" protects chlorine from the sun.
"Rapid" refers to the dilution time of this product which is processed to a fine powdered as opposed to granules. All stabilisers should be added through the skimmer box*
*If your pool has automation with probes to control ORP or PH, stabiliser should not exceed 30ppm and should NOT be added to the skimmer box, consult your pool professional.
Caution: Stabiliser levels over 80 will start to create a problem called chlorine lock where chlorine is over protected and unable to do its job effectively. There is no practical way of removing stabiliser, the pool must be drained to correct the levels. For this reason, we recommend testing your water with a test strip before adding stabiliser.
Stabiliser building up in this way is typically only found in pools that have had extended use of stabilised chlorine products such as Dichlor or Trichlor, a situation people can find themselves in when their chlorinator isnt working. Chlorinators cells have a lifespan of 4-7 years.
